4D, Collaborations & Curations

12 minutes 32 seconds

Graphic Score

4C was a collaboration with the UNC percussion ensemble.  The project was to create graphic scores to be interpreted as music.  The following is an excerpt from the video 6 minutes 32 seconds.  As a visual artist I am often eluded by the concept time.  I wanted to create a video that included the time element as a bridge between the visual and audio world.  The use of the 3D printer  in the stop motion animation inspired the rhythmic motion of the percussionists as well as the evolution of the industrial revolution.  I feel that technology has altered the way we perceive and deal with time.  It has lead to a world of mass production and repetition, mimicked in the cycle of the houses.
